Sharks remain without Lambie

Flyhalf Pat Lambie is set to miss another week of action due to the concussion he suffered in the Springboks’ first Test against Ireland on 11 June.

It’s been confirmed that Lambie will sit out the Sharks’ clash with the Cheetahs this Saturday, with the effects of his horrible collision with Ireland flanker CJ Stander still taking their toll.

Lambie’s continued absence is another blow for the injury-hit Sharks, who will field a backline that is almost unrecognisable from when at full strength earlier in the season.

With Lambie still sidelined, Garth April is set to continue at flyhalf, and he will be desperately looking to rediscover the form that he so prolifically displayed before the June break.

The Sharks currently occupy the wildcard quarter-final playoff place, but only have a three-point lead over the Bulls, and so they’ll be fully aware that they can’t afford to slip up against the Cheetahs in Durban.
