The DHL Stormers have spent the week in the Southern Cape on a training camp which saw the squad work hard on their game and strengthen connections off the field.
Based in Wilderness and training in George, the Stormers squad set their focus on the upcoming Vodacom United Rugby Championship campaign which kicks off in two weeks’ time.
Director of rugby John Dobson said that the training camp was a success as they managed to get through plenty of detail and tactical applications of their game-model while also spending some time connecting as a team.

“We wanted to get in some good training, but the other thing was to connect, both on and off the field. The most important thing was to improve our game and connect as a squad and I think we’ve got that right.
“Through injury mainly we have had a few Springboks with us on camp, so that is great for the youngsters with us. They have got this time to chat to and work with some really experienced players which is brilliant,” he said.
Their pre-season preparations will conclude next week when a Stormers XV travels to Nelspruit for a practice match against the Pumas at Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit on Wednesday.
