Toulon turn tables on Tigers

Toulon avenged their loss at Welford Road last weekend with a 23-8 win against Leicester at Stade Félix Mayol on Saturday.

An early Ali Williams try helped Toulon race into a 16-0 lead, and while the Tigers hit back with a try from Blaine Scully, Mathieu Bastareaud's second-half try killed off the visitors' hopes of a comeback.

In other European Champions Cup matches, winger Matt Banahan bagged a hat-trick as Bath beat Montpellier 32-12 at the Rec, Toulouse recorded a 12-9 away win against Glasgow in a tryless fixture, Northampton scored 11 tries to thrash Benetton Treviso 67-0 at Franklin's Gardens, Racing Métro scraped past the Ospreys 18-14 in a poor game in Le Mans, Saracens scored three tries to beat Sale 28-15 in London, and Leinster needed a late penalty to edge Harlequins 14-13 in Dublin.
