Bulls lock RG Snyman will play for the Honda Heat in the Japanese Top League and miss this year's Currie Cup.
According to SuperSport.com, the 22-year-old will return to Pretoria for next year's Super Rugby tournament and will be available for the Springboks if selected.
Bulls flyhalf Francois Brummer will also be heading to Japan, having signed for Toyota Shokki.
