UJ beat UCT 63-0, while there were also wins for Tuks, Pukke and Maties in round six of the Varsity Cup.
By scoring eight tries at the Cape Town Stadium, UJ handed UCT their sixth straight defeat.
UJ opened the scoring through lock David Antonites before winger Aphiwe Dyantyi, centre Robert de Bruyn, and hooker Johannes Snyman (two tries) all added their names to the scoresheet to make it 37-0 at the break.
UCT were unable exploit their wind advantage after the interval as tries by lock Jeremy Jordan, centre Bradley Moolman and Dytantyi, again, gave UJ a resounding victory.
In Thursday’s other matches, Tuks recorded their third win in a row as they beat NMMU 45-23 after trailing 16-14 at the interval, Pukke beat CUT 44-14 for their fourth win of the season, while Maties beat Shimlas 35-14 to remain unbeaten at the top of the log.
Seven points behind Maties are UJ with Pukke and Shimlas third and fourth respectively. Tuks are just two points adrift of Shimlas in fifth place.
Maties will meet UJ in Monday's final round of matches, and both will qualify for the playoffs regardless of the result. Pukke will take on Shimlas in what will become a must-win match for both sides if Tuks win their match against UCT earlier in the day.
