A last-gasp converted try for the USA denied the Blitzboks a victory in a high-scoring Pool A clash of the London Sevens at Twickenham on Saturday.
After a commanding first-half performance, leading 19-14 at the break, the South Africans were forced to settle for a share of the spoils in a 26-26 draw.
The Blitzboks showcased their prowess early, with rapid-fire tries from Christie Grobbelaar, Shilton van Wyk, and Dewald Human. Matching their intensity, Ricardo Duarttee and Steve Tomasin exchanged flawless conversions throughout the match.

The resilient Americans responded, with Kevon Williams crossing the try-line in the fifth minute. Just before half time, Lucas Lacamp snuck in a crucial touchdown, adding to the mounting tension.
Undeterred, the South Africans continued their offensive in the second half, with Mfundo Ndhlovu dotting down in the ninth minute. Yet, the tenacious Yanks refused to back down.

Williams secured his second try in the 11th minute, followed by Pita Vi, who powered over the line just before the final hooter.
The Blitzboks suffered a 19-14 defeat in their opening match, and will regroup to complete their pool schedule against Sevens Series champions New Zealand at 7.33pm.
