Wasps whack Quins

Wasps scored six tries to beat Harlequins 42-10 on Sunday, while there were also Premiership wins for Northampton, Gloucester, Exeter and Leicester.

It was Wasps' sixth consecutive win in the tournament.

The hosts scored two tries in five minutes after camping in Quins' half for much of the first 20 minutes. Prop Jake Cooper-Woolley opened the scoring in the 23rd minute before winger Christian Wade went over in the 28th. Flyhalf Jimmy Gopperth added the extras to put his side ahead 14-0.

Quins hit back through flanker Luke Wallace, who scored from the back of a strong lineout drive, but flyhalf Ben Botica was unable to convert. No 8 Nathan Hughes then scored Wasps' third try, with Gopperth converting to give his side a 21-5 lead at the break.

Quins scored the first points of the second half through winger Charlie Walker, but again Botica missed the conversion. Wasps hit back with three tries by flanker Thomas Young, centre Siale Piutau and replacement centre Brendan Macken. Gopperth and replacement flyhalf Alex Lozowski converted all three.

Elsewhere on Sunday, the Exeter Chiefs handed Bath their ninth defeat of the season, beating them 26-17 at Sandy Park, while the Leicester Tigers made easy work of London Irish, scoring seven tries to win 47-20 at Welford Road.

On Saturday, winger Tom Collins scored a hat-trick of tries as the Northampton Saints beat the Worcester Warriors 38-18 after trailing 12-15 at half-time, while Gloucester scored four tries in their convincing 32-6 win over the Newcastle Falcons at Kingsholm Stadium.

The Sale Sharks and Saracens shared the spoils in Manchester after drawing 36-36. Sharks flyhalf Danny Cipriani and Sarries replacement flyhalf Nils Mordt both missed late shots at goal.
