Western Province and Boland have formed a new competition to strengthen the relationship between the unions.

The inaugural Community Challenge will run from 1 March until 29 March, with the ultimate purpose of enhancing club rugby in the regions.

The competition also offers an alternative opportunity for those clubs and players who did not qualify for participation in the Community Cup.

The following clubs will be participating in the first Community Challenge:

Group A: Durb-Bell, Hawston, Tygerberg, Ceres.
Group B: Worcester Villagers, SK Walmers, Saldanha, Belhar.
