Wild Knights book place in final

Defending champions Panasonic Wild Knights defeated Frans Steyn's Toshiba Brave Lupus 50-15 in the second Top League semi-final.

Steyn's impact was limited and barring two penalties and one conversion, he failed to have any sort of influence on proceedings.

Former Wallabies utility back Berrick Barnes produced a tactically superb performance, contributing 25 points as his team notched up a half-century. JP Pietersen failed to feature for the Wild Knights, but is expected to return for next weekend's final.

Coached by Robbie Deans, the Wild Knights opened the scoring early in the game and went on to score a further four converted tries. Steyn scored Toshiba's first points through a penalty, but it was his team's only points, as the half-time score read 37-3. Despite managing a try and penalty try in the second half, the Brave Lupus couldn't keep up with the Wild Knights, who ran in a further 13 points.

The Wild Knights will now clash with Yamaha Júbilo after they saw off Gary Gold's Kobelco Steelers in yesterday's first semi-final.
