Grey College equalled their best victory over Paarl Gimnasium when they thrashed the Capetonians on the opening day of the Noord/Suid Rugby schools festival in Pretoria.
The boys from Bloemfontein got the better of their rivals 33-12 – the best winning scoreline for Grey between the teams was 34-13 in 2005 – to claim bragging rights on Friday. Paarl Gim won the last two encounters 22-17 (in 2022) and 18-16 (in 2021).

In results from earlier in the day, Maritizburg and Affies edged Noordheuwel and Durban High School, respectively, in a tightly-contested affairs, while Glenwood beat Hoerskool Nelspruit in a thrilling 39-33 triumph.
