Hook handed Welsh recall

Wales have called James Hook into their squad for their three remaining November internationals.

The Gloucester utility back, initially deemed surplus to requirements, will join up with the squad on Monday after flyhalf Dan Biggar suffered a groin injury in the defeat to the Wallabies at the Millenium Stadium on Saturday.

The 29-year-old has won 76 caps for Wales, but fallen out of favour in recent times with Warren Gatland opting instead for Biggar and Rhys Priestland in the pivot position.

Meanwhile, Toulon fullback Leigh Halfpenny suffered what has been described as mild concussion during the Wallabies clash.

Halfpenny left the field 10 minutes before half-time and will follow the necessary concussion protocols before a decision is made on his possible involvement in the Test against Fiji at the weekend.
