Head coach Sean Everitt has named six returning international players for Edinburgh to face the Lions in the Vodacom URC in Scotland on Saturday.
Fullback Blair Kinghorn, lock Grant Gilchrist, flanker Hamish Watson, No 8 Viliame Mata, hooker Ewan Ashman and prop WP Nel have been included in the match-day squad for the Scottish club as they aim to secure a second win after a successful opening round against Dragons.
Kinghorn rejoins the back-three, and the team maintains consistency in the front row. An all-international back row combines Mata with Scotland flankers Luke Crosbie and Watson. Ashman is poised to make his competitive debut off the bench if needed.
Everitt expressed enthusiasm for returning to Hive Stadium and emphasised the need for physicality in the upcoming match.
“We’re delighted to welcome back a number of internationalists to our matchday squad, they add further strength and experience as we take on a hugely competitive Lions side,” he told the club’s official website.
