The DHL Stormers will be able to call on a fit-again Seabelo Senatla, as well as several seniors who were spared to trip to Ulster, for Saturday’s derby against the Sharks in Durban.
The absence of regular wings Angelo Davids and Leolin Zas saw the Stormers pick Corne Smit, who plays at centre, on the left wing in Belfast. 19-year-old Suleiman Hartzeberg was on the right wing.
However, John Dobson has confirmed that the Stormers will be able to pick Senatla again this week.
The former Sevens speedster had been out since last September with a pectoral muscle injury he suffered in the second round of the season against Connacht in Stellenbosch.
The Stormers will also be able to select most of the senior players who did not travel to face Ulster. Joseph Dweba, Neethling Fouche, Deon Fourie, Hacjivah Dayimani and Manie Libbok are all among those back in the reckoning for this weekend.
On the other hand, it’s unlikely that any of the players who went off injured against Ulster – JJ Kotze, Evan Roos and Jean-Luc du Plessis – will be available. Along with that, senior lock Marvin Orie will join Damian Willemse, Steven Kitshoff and Frans Malherbe in Springbok-mandated rest.
