Arthur to hunt more Saffas for Force

Ex-Proteas and Australia cricket coach Mickey Arthur will help reel in new talent for the Force, particularly South Africans.

Arthur's recruitment role requires him to attract overseas talent to the Perth-based Super Rugby side to fill the void left by local youngsters who overwhelmingly choose Aussie rules over rugby.

The Force already have two South Africans – Dave Wessels and Kevin Foote – on the coaching staff as well as eight South African players, including Marcel Brache, Sias Ebersohn, Chris Heiberg, Wilhelm Steenkamp and Brynard Stander. Dillyn Leyds, Dylan Sage and Francois van Wyk are in the Force’s expanded training group.

The Force will feature all eight South African recruits in their two Super Rugby warm-up games against the Pampas XV and Samoa A in Perth on Friday.
