In association with Roc Nation Sports International (RNSI), legendary former prop Beast Mtawarira will star in an exclusive Rugby World Cup content series in France.
Mtawarira famously won the World Cup in 2019 with South Africa as he headed into rugby retirement on a high note, while he has undertaken a host of successful business and entrepreneurial ventures ever since hanging up his rugby boots.
Beast will now be spending the next few weeks conducting various roles at the World Cup, having actually been chosen as the representative to hand over the Webb Ellis Cup back in May as part of the build up to the tournament.
The 38-year-old, who featured in 117 Tests for the Springboks, will be following the team’s progress closely in France, and there is no doubt that he is incredibly well placed to share insights into how proceedings might play out.
With this in mind, Beast will be taking part in an exclusive video content series as a World Cup ‘inside reporter’ for Roc Nation Sports International, the world renowned agency that represents the rugby legend.
The multi-episode content series will feature across all of Beast’s social media platforms as well as those of RNSI as he offers predictions, insights and opinion for the remainder of the tournament, which concludes at the end of October.
Mtawarira will be arriving in France on Thursday, and said he couldn’t wait to produce his first ‘vlog diary’ entry, which will primarily look ahead to the blockbuster battle between the Springboks and Ireland on Saturday in his debut episode.
“I can’t wait to touch down in Paris and to start soaking up the atmosphere at the World Cup, which has already got off to such an exciting start. I will of course be following the Springboks very closely, and certainly believe they have the capabilities to make history by winning the world title back-to-back, and for the fourth time overall in South Africa’s history.”
Rob Simpkins, who is the head of content and strategy at Roc Nation Sports International, said it was exciting to be able to play a part in this new content series.
“Earlier this year we officially announced the launch of our ever-evolving content service studio, RNSI Productions, which aims to find new and innovative ways to share the stories of our athletes and partners in the sports world. There is no better time than now to be shining a spotlight on the World Cup, as well the several Roc Nation athletes who are playing at the tournament, and so it will be fantastic to have Beast as our ‘inside reporter’ offering access and insights that will be exclusively sourced for RNSI Productions.”
