The Blitzboks recovered from a scoreless opening Pool A defeat at the Singapore Sevens to record a convincing win against Hong Kong on Saturday.
Two first-half tries from Mfundo Ndhlovu, along with a touchdown from Impi Visser, set the South Africans on their way to a 21-0 lead at the interval, before rookies Sebastiaan Jobb and Ethan James crossed after the break to help complete a 31-12 win.

Sandile Ngcobo’s charges suffered a 19-0 loss to Australia in their first match of the day at the Singapore National Stadium, and the Blitzboks coach won’t be impressed with his men’s discipline after three yellow cards – two to Ricardo Duarttee – across both matches.
The Blitzboks were set to complete their pool schedule with a match against Sevens Series leaders New Zealand at 11.28am.
