Fullback Devon Williams, currently on loan from the Pumas to the Vodacom Bulls, has expressed his desire to make the move to Loftus Versfeld a permanent one.
Despite facing stiff competition among top Springboks at the Pretoria outfit, Williams has excelled in the Bulls’ back three alongside Sebastian de Klerk and Sergeal Petersen this season.
Since his debut with the Pumas in 2016, Williams has consistently showcased his prowess for the 2022 Currie Cup champions, and last week earned the Man of the Match award in the Bulls’ Champions Cup win against Bristol Bears for his standout display.
As his contract negotiations unfold, the 31-year-old remains uncertain about his future in Pretoria, but he is unequivocal about his preference.

“It is definitely where I would like to end off my career,” Williams was quoted by Rugby365, as the Bulls prepare to face Bordeaux Begles in the Champions Cup at Loftus on Saturday.
“It has been a step up. I’ve learnt a lot. It’s a different environment and you just have to adapt with the travelling and everything.”
On his performance at Ashton Gate versus the Bears, he attributes his classy performance to the support of his teammates and is determined to continue impressing.
“We knew they had a good kicking game, so my team gave me the opportunity to express myself,” he added.
“For any player to get player of the match, it is very nice. A lot of my teammates made it possible to just go out and express myself. It’s a great feeling, but it is also about how I back it up.”
