It’s incredibly early days in the annual sevens calendar, but South Africa are sitting pretty at the top of the standings coming into their home leg hosted at Cape Town Stadium this coming weekend.
Round two follows a victorious effort for the Blitzboks in Dubai and much of their fortunes will hinge on the form of flyer Seabelo Senatla, arguably the best player in the world in this format.
Senatla goes into round two as the MVP of world sevens after scoring the most tries in round one and also coming out as the top points scorer with 55. Just to finish the trick, Senatla is also the man with the most clean breaks in the tournament so far (72). Early days of course, but encouraging signs for the SA side and they rightly arrive in the Mother City as heavy favourites.
