Fijian wing Napolioni Nalaga scored a brace as Clermont beat Sale 35-3 in their European Champions Cup match on Sunday.
After suffering defeat in their opening match against Saracens, last year's losing finalists moved into second place in the pool with the bonus-point victory.
Nalaga was the star of the show, with his two tries taking his tally to 25 in 32 games, the greatest strike rate in the history of the top tier of European rugby.
In other results on Sunday, Irish flyhalf Ian Madigan kicked seven penalties as Leinster battled back to claim a 21-16 victory over Castres, Harlequins picked up their second successive win of the competition against Wasps, while Racing Métro secured an easy away win over Treviso courtesy of another solid kicking display by another Irish flyhalf, Jonathan Sexton, who grabbed 16 points in the 26-10 win.
