Marcell Coetzee Coetzee wins big at Ulster awards
    Published on September 30, 2020

Marcell Coetzee scooped up three awards at Ulster’s virtual awards ceremony on Tuesday.

Coetzee’s outstanding performances in the 2019-20 season โ€“ during which he made 506 run metres, 273 carries, 199 tackles and 19 turnovers in 28 appearances โ€“ have been acknowledged with three awards at the club’s annual ceremony which was virtual due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The 29-year-old Coetzee was named the Ulster Supporters’ Club Player of the Season, scooped the Rugby Writersโ€™ Player of the Year gong, and was voted for as Ulster’s Personality of the Year.

However, he narrowly missed out on the Player of the Year award, which went to scrumhalf John Cooney, who scored 184 points and 10 tries in 33 appearances in the 2019-20 campaign.
