Craven Week Hero of the Day (Day 3)

Boland flyhalf Adriaan van der Bank was named U18 Craven Week Hero of the Day after his side's 20-15 win against Border.

Border dominated proceedings in the first half, taking a 12-0 lead into the break, but Boland rallied in the second half to get back to within a point with only minutes left on the clock.

Van der Bank then showed his class by calmly slotting a penalty from 50m out, and followed it up with a drop goal in the dying seconds to seal the victory.

'It was great to play in front of a home crowd, it just makes it so much easier to dig deep and find that extra something when you feel like you want to give up,' he told SARugbymag.co.za. 'I don't usually take the long kicks, that falls to our fullback Earl Douwrie, but I felt the wind at my back and backed myself to take it on.

'It was our goal from the outset to play the final day on the A-field and remain undefeated,' he added. 'So we're all glad that we're on the way to achieving that.'
