Sale Sharks playmaker Robert du Preez is the man to fix the Springbok flyhalf crisis, according to SARugbymag.co.za readers.
The alarm bells are ringing at flyhalf after injuries ruled out Bok pivots Damian Willemse and Handre Pollard. Jacques Nienaber contentiously called up Elton Jantjies to fill the gap, the 47-Test veteran omitted from the team since being embroiled in a scandal last year.

With 33% of the vote, Du Preez was the readers’ choice to give the Boks some breathing space at 10, edging out 39-year-old Ruan Pienaar (26%).
A fifth of the voters believe the move to call up Jantjies was the right one, while the recently retired Morne Steyn (14%) was backed ahead of the Sharks’ Curwin Bosch (8%).

An underwhelming performance in his only Test for the Boks in 2018 ensured Du Preez gradually slipped out of the selectors’ considerations, but he has reinvented himself at Sale to reopen discussions of another shot at the Bok jersey.
