Scotland have announced a four-game tour of North and South America, with matches against emerging nations Canada, the United States, Chile and Uruguay in July.
“Having the ability to play four games on this year’s summer tour is a brilliant opportunity for us,” said Scotland coach Gregor Townsend on Friday.
“It will enable us to spend added time working with a wider group of players, building more cohesion with our squad and also giving more players experiences of preparing for and playing Test-match rugby.

“With the travel demands and contrasting styles of rugby from the four nations we face, we will be challenged on and off the field to deliver quality performances.”
Scotland will face Canada in Ottawa on 6 July followed by matches against USA in Washington (July 12), Chile in Santiago (July 20) and Uruguay in Montevideo (July 27).
Townsend’s charges conclude their Six Nations campaign away to tournament leaders and title-holders Ireland in Dublin on Saturday.
A single try at the Aviva Stadium would move wing Duhan van der Merwe level with all-time Scotland leader Stuart Hogg on 27, but the 28-year-old is primed to take the lead having scored five tries in his last four Six Nations matches.
