Former Australia coach Eddie Jones threatens his players with a livestock device in a new documentary that lifts the lid on the Wallabies’ 2023 Rugby World Cup disaster.
Jones, now in charge of Japan, unveils a surprising motivational approach in a sneak peek of Stan Sport‘s feature, The Wallabies: Inside Rugby World Cup 2023. The never-before-seen footage captures the 63-year-old brandishing a cattle prod during a team camp, warning players, “If you can’t run fast, I’ve got this – the cattle prodder. Bang!”
The revelation adds another layer to Jones’ controversial return to Australian rugby in January 2022. The documentary also revisits his fiery airport press conference in 2023, where he berated reporters for negativity about team selections and performance.

Denying reports of a job interview for Japan’s head coach before the World Cup, Jones eventually took on the role in December.
The doccie trailer glimpses the Wallabies’ struggles in France, including their historic loss to Fiji and a crushing defeat against Wales. Jones, who returned for a contract until 2027, won just two games during his second tenure at the helm.
