Ed’s letter: United in isolation

With the country set to go into a 21-day lockdown, it’s an opportunity to renew the national spirit we saw when the Springboks united the country last November, writes CRAIG LEWIS.

It feels like a lifetime ago that the Springboks lifted the Webb Ellis trophy in Yokohama on 2 November, sending the country into unified celebrations that lasted days and weeks on end.

However, we have now all been faced with the greatest leveller after the coronavirus pandemic has sent sport, businesses and, indeed, countries into shutdown.

This is an extraordinary time, but here at SARugbymag.co.za it will be business as usual as we search for new and creative ways to provide content to keep you entertained during this time of lockdown.

Yesterday, we launched the teaser for our new upcoming video series that will show you a different side to Stormers and Blitzbok star Seabelo Senatla, while we will have a new video analysis coming soon that reveals through animation just how the Sharks managed such a strong start to Vodacom Super Rugby.

Preview: Winging it with Seabelo Senatla

Our new magazine is also now on sale, and as you head out to conduct your shopping during this time, we encourage you to grab a copy for your reading pleasure.

Although so much has changed since that new issue went to print, there are some fascinating stories and features on players of interest, including cover star Lukhanyo Am.

New issue: Am’s 2020 vision

We are also launching a daily rugby quiz, and invite you to keep a close eye on all our social media channels for various engagements.
