Griquas have selected eight Currie Cup debutants in their match 23 for Saturday’s clash with the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein.
Griquas, under the leadership of No 8 Ruan Steenkamp, have gone with an inexperienced lineup to front the Cheetahs.
Eight players – Eddie Davids, Derik Pretorius, Zander du Plessis, Rynhardt Jonker, Munier Hartzenberg, Kudzwai Dube, Johan Retief and Michael Amiras – will all play their first-ever game for Griquas, while also making their debuts in the Currie Cup.
A further four players – Niel Otto, Luther Obi, Justin Forwood, Sango Xamlashe – will make their first appearance for Griquas, having signed on from other unions and Varsity Cup teams.
