EP clubs aim to kick Cheeky out

A motion of no confidence will be tabled against Cheeky Watson at a special general meeting on 30 January.

According to Rapport, Willem Oliphant is the favourite to succeed Watson as EPRU president.

This follows a financial crisis at the EP Kings that has seen Saru take control of the Super Rugby franchise, the Southern Kings.

Watson had promised a R200-million sponsorship for the Kings but this failed to materialise, with players forced to accept food vouchers following the non-payment of salaries.
