Ulster centre Stewart Moore’s hotly-debated try against the Sharks in the Vodacom United Rugby Championship should not have stood, according to SARugbymag.co.za readers.
A resounding 62% of fans believe the try, the third of four Ulster tries in their 31-24 victory over the Sharks in Durban on Saturday, should have been disallowed.
Sharks scrumhalf Grant Williams was readying to box kick from a ruck with the ball on the try line and both hands on it when Moore dived on the ball and was awarded a try.
Some argued that the try was good because there is no offside when the ball is over the try line, while others contended the try should’ve been overturned for a 5-metre scrum as Williams had the ball grounded on the line before Moore made his move.
