Farrell boots Sarries to victory

Saracens maintained their undefeated start to the English Premiership season with a 12-6 win over the Northampton Saints at Franklin's Gardens on Saturday.

England flyhalf Owen Farrell slotted four vital penalties as Sarries did enough to clinch their fourth successive victory, while the Saints succumbed to their third defeat despite putting up a valiant battle.

Earlier in the day, things were a lot easier for Bath as they scored six tries on the way to a 45-14 victory over winless London Irish.

Meanwhile, a brace of tries from Alex Grove helped the Worcester Warriors seal their second win of the season as they overcame the Newcastle Falcons 28-20.

At Sandy Park, flyhalf Gareth Steenson converted his own try and slotted four penalties as the Exeter Chiefs clinched a 19-6 win over the Leicester Tigers.

In Friday night’s solitary fixture, a second-half try from Tim Visser enabled Harlequins to clinch a third win of the season as they defeated the Sale Sharks 16-14 after trailing 7-3 at the break.

The weekend's final fixture saw the London Wasps cruise to a 23-3 win over Gloucester, with winger Christian Wade scoring an eye-catching first half try.
