Springbok utility back Aphelele Fassi is reportedly set to join the DHL Stormers from the Sharks.
According to Sunday newspaper Rapport, Western Province Rugby is making good progress trying to bring the versatile Fassi to Cape Town after his current contract with the Sharks expires in December.
It is understood that WP is desperate to secure the three-Test-capped Fassi, who is also able to play fullback and wing, to supplement several positions next season.

This, amid reported ongoing negotiations at WP to extend up to 20 current players’ contracts, two of them being Bok flyhalf Manie Libbok and in-form centre Dan du Plessis.
Libbok, though, is the subject of a potential player swap with French outfit Racing 92 for former teammate Warrick Gelant.
A WP official told Rapport that they are satisfied with the progress being made extending players’ contracts, but was coy on whether the union has made an offer for Fassi.

“We are trying to act early to keep the group together and build something special,” the representative said. “He [Fassi] is one of several good players whose contracts will soon expire.”
It is believed that the Sharks hope that Fassi (25) will extend his contract with the Durbanites.
