Flip van der Merwe will captain the Vodacom Bulls against the Brumbies at Loftus on Friday, with Jacques-Louis Potgieter at 10.
Van der Merwe missed three matches due to suspension and is one of three changes to the side that beat the Stormers two weeks ago. He replaces Paul Willemse in the No 4 jersey with Werner Kruger rotating at tighthead prop with Marcel van der Merwe.
Potgieter swops with Pollard in the only change at the back.
On the bench, Wimpie van der Walt makes way for Willemse, while Ulrich Beyers also comes in as a subsitute in place of William Small-Smith, who is ill.
Meanwhile, the Brumbies have selected Leon Power in the second row and shifted Scott Fardy to the blindside flank.
