World Cup-winning Springbok assistant coach Matt Proudfoot has reportedly taken charge of the Leopards in the Currie Cup First Division.
According to a report on News24, Proudfoot, who recently served as a deputy coach to Allister Coetzee with Namibia, was officially appointed as head coach of the Potchefstroom-based outfit on Monday.
Proudfoot guided Maties to a semi-final place in the 2023 Varsity Cup but won just four out of seven fixtures in his one and only season in charge.

The 52-year-old was previously a member of Rassie Erasmus’ successful 2019 World Cup coaching staff and worked under Eddie Jones with England.
The former Scotland international, who matriculated from Potch Boys’ High, represented the Leopards 56 times at the senior level.
