Deon Fourie has set the record straight on the incident between himself and Joe Marler during the Champions Cup last-16 clash in Cape Town.
An incident between the DHL Stormers veteran and Harlequins prop was highlighted by Swys de Bruin on SuperSport’s Final Whistle panel show.
WATCH: Marler’s ‘ball-tampering’ leaves Fourie fuming
In the clip, it appears that Marler grabs Fourie in an uncompromising position during a breakdown contest, irritating the loose forward.
However, in a Twitter post on Thursday morning, Fourie moved to explain what had happened between himself and Marler that left him irate.
“Just to set the facts straight between me and Joe Marler. The scuffle between us was about something else he did while I was sitting on the ground and waiting for the medical staff to clean the blood from my face,” said Fourie.
“Nothing else happened. Except 32-28.”

The Stormers will once again look to Fourie, who won four turnovers against Harlequins to go with his brace of tries, to lead the charge in the quarter-final away to Exeter Chiefs on Saturday.
