Head coach Fabien Galthie said France were not been clinical enough after Ireland handed the Six Nations Grand Slam defending champions their first loss since 2021.
Trailing 22-16 at half time in Dublin on Saturday, France, the world’s No 2 team, were outscored by the top-ranked nation four tries to one in a disappointing 32-19 defeat at the Aviva Stadium.
Victory for the Irish marked a first triumph for Andy Farrell as head coach against France, and Ireland’s first over the French in the Six Nations since 2019, as well as end a run of 14 wins in a row for Les Bleus.

“When you come away with no points after expending a lot of energy you have to be very strong to stay in the contest, to keep believing, especially against them,” he said.
The former France captain added that seeing their national record streak come to an end was tough.
“It’s almost two years since we have lost. It’s hard to take,” said Galthie. “The series of wins are there, now it is necessary to learn how to take a defeat.
“Defeat is not a friend, but we will have to spend the day with her.”
