South African-born hooker Rob Herring sealed the deal as Ireland were made to sweat against 14-man England to claim a long-awaited Six Nations Grand Slam victory in Dublin on Saturday.
A 29-16 victory over England saw Ireland go through their Six Nations campaign unbeaten to win their first Grand Slam title since 2018.

It was a hard-fought final hurdle for Andy Farrell’s outfit, up against an England side that was determined to spoil the party.
The visitors took an early 6-0 lead and were very much in the contest, up until they lost fullback Freddie Steward to a controversial red card.

While England refused to lie down despite their disadvantage, second-half tries from hookers Dan Sheehan and Cape Town-raised Herring, to go with a score from centre Robbie Henshaw, were enough for Ireland to see out a memorable victory.
