Dave Kilcoyne will miss the entire Six Nations after club Munster said the veteran Ireland prop would be out for “at least six months” after shoulder surgery.
The 35-year-old, who has 56 Test caps and made four appearances off the bench at the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France, had an operation on Thursday.
“Following the Leinster game on St Stephen’s Day [26 December ] Dave Kilcoyne has undergone surgery on his shoulder… and will be out for at least six months,” the club said in a squad update.

Kilcoyne has suffered a serious setback before he thought his career might be over in 2022 due to a serious neck injury which resulted in him losing the feeling in one arm.
Ireland, who won their fourth Six Nations Grand Slam last year, begin their championship defence against France in Marseille on 2 February.
