Piers Francis, Jason Woodward and Nathan Hughes have been called up to England’s 34-man squad for their tour of South Africa.
The trio was included in coach Eddie Jones’ finalised squad following the injury-enforced withdrawal of Cameron Redpath (knee), Ben Te’o (quad muscle) and Jack Willis (knee).
The uncapped Woodward has been in top form for Gloucester this season and was tipped to make the initial squad. Francis has three Test caps and scored a brace for England against the Barbarians on Sunday.
Hughes missed the later stages of the Premiership campaign due to injury but has proven his fitness to take up the spot of Wasps teammate Willis.
England’s touring party convened at Pennyhill Park on Monday to begin their final preparations before their departure to South Africa for the three-Test series against the Springboks.
