    Maxwane among Pro14 nominees

    Cheetahs wing Rabz Maxwane is among the nine South Africans nominated for the official Pro14 dream team following his record-equalling season.

    Maxwane will compete with Edinburgh’s Darcy Graham and Leinster’s James Lowe after scoring 14 tries this season – equalling the record set by former Scotland wing Tim Visser.

    The 23-year-old is the only player from the two South African franchises to be nominated for a place in the team.

    Other nominees include Ulster loose forward Marcell Coetzee, Benetton Treviso’s Dewaldt Duvenage and Braam Steyn, as well as Edinburgh trio Pierre Schoeman, WP Nel and Jaco van der Walt.

    The final team will be revealed on Thursday, 23 May.
