SA Rugby has officially confirmed that the U16 Grant Khomo Week will no longer be held at the Markotter Fields in Stellenbosch amid a period of heavy rain in the Western Cape.
The tournament, which will open the annual Youth Weeks programme this year from 26 to 29 June, was initially scheduled to take place at Paul Roos Gymnasium’s Markotter Fields in Stellenbosch, but due to the heavy rain that has fallen in the area in recent weeks, the fields have become unfit to play on.
As a result, the decision was taken to move the Grant Khomo Week to Boland Landbou, which is roughly 40km north of Stellenbosch.
The venues for the U18 Craven Week (George) and the U16 and U18 Girls Weeks (Johannesburg) are unchanged.
