Munster captain Peter O’Mahony is among the Ireland internationals returning to strengthen the defending champions for the clash with the DHL Stormers on Saturday.
There are four changes to the Munster starting lineup that suffered a derby defeat to Ulster, the title-holders’ first loss of the season.
Two Ireland internationals – loose forward O’Mahony and lock Tadhg Beirne – are brought straight back into Munster’s pack, while a third, scrumhalf Connor Murray, will play from the bench.
An injury to hooker Diarmuid Barron sees Scott Buckley start at hooker for the first time since his debut in 2021 and make his 21st Munster appearance.
There is just one change to the backline, as academy winger Shay McCarthy starts on his third Munster appearance.
Tighthead prop Stephen Archer is also named among the replacements and in line to play his 268th game for Munster, equalling Donncha O’Callaghan’s record of most appearances for the province.
