Ahead of the Vodacom URC clash between Munster and the DHL Stormers, John Dobson’s men welcomed young fans to their captains run at Thomond Park on Friday afternoon.
Fierce rivals off the pitch, having battled it out last May for the honour of becoming Vodacom URC Champions, off the pitch Munster Rugby welcomed their South African visitors to Thomond Park to meet the next generation of fans.
These young rugby fanatics – from Christ The King Boys National School, in Limerick – were treated to a day they will never forget with the DHL Stormers players and coaching staff taking them through rugby drills and spending time signing autographs.
After being tackled by some young Munster fans, DHL Stormers head coach John Dobson said: “We are delighted that these local young fans came out to see us, we had so much fun seeing their enthusiasm and love for the game.
“This is what we love to do, to connect with fans, all over the world, not just back home.”
As part of the Vodacom URC’s Communities United campaign, the URC encourages its clubs to engage in cross-hemisphere community activities with traveling teams, providing fans and players with a unique opportunity to learn about the different personalities and cultures in this uniquely diverse league.
