Lions head coach Ivan van Rooyen has recalled flyhalf Sanele Nohamba at the expense of Jordan Hendrikse for the Challenge Cup round two clash against the Premiership’s Newcastle Falcons at Ellis Park on Saturday.
Hendrikse starred last week as an overhauled starting XV secured a 28-12 win at Top 14 outfit Perpignan in their 2023-24 Challenge Cup opener. Despite the man-of-the-match performance, in which he kicked 23 points, Hendrikse makes way for Nohamba who partners Morne van den Berg once again as the halfback combo.
Regulars such as Nohamba, captain Marius Louw, No 8 Francke Horn and fullback Quan Horn have all returned to the starting lineup to face Newcastle.
It’s the final one of the year at the Park. See you all tomorrow!
