Readers had their say and voted on which three scrumhalves the Springbok selectors must include in the South African team for the 2023 Rugby World Cup.
Faf de Klerk, Cobus Reinach and Herschel Jantjies were the three who travelled to Japan for the 2019 tournament which the Boks won by thumping England 32-12 in the final.
In a SARugbymag.co.za poll, Yokohama Canon Eagles halfback De Klerk was the clear favourite to be on the plane to France with the world champions in less than five months’ time with 31% of 7,395 votes.
POLL: Who to captain the Springboks if Kolisi’s out?
Joining him again at the global spectacle will be Montpellier-based Reinach (24%) and Jaden Hendrikse (19%), with the latter only just cracking the nod ahead of Sharks teammate Grant Williams (15%).
There is customarily only space for three scrummies in a 33-man squad, which is a pity given the wealth of talent available to the Boks in that position.
