The man most worthy of being the first inductee into SARugbymag’s Cheetahs Hall is Springbok legend and scrum maestro Os du Randt, according to readers.
Du Randt’s induction follows hot on the heels of Fourie du Preez being enshrined SARugbymag’s Bulls Hall of Fame.
With a resounding 40% of the vote, Du Randt staved off what was expected to be stiff competition from Cheetahs legends Juan Smith, Kennedy Tsimba, Andre Venter, Heinrich Brussow and Rassie Erasmus.
Smith came in second in the voting with 23%e, followed by Venter (13%) and Brussow (10%), while Tsimba (8%) edged Erasmus (7%) at the bottom of the list.

Powering the Cheetahs scrum from the mid-90s until 2007, Du Randt was a loosehead colossus. The World Rugby Hall of Famer made 122 appearances and played an integral role in their 2005 Currie Cup-winning campaign. The 1997 SA Rugby Player of the Year was also the Cheetahs scrum coach during the 2009 Currie Cup.
