The unbeaten Pumas clawed the Cheetahs to continue a perfect start to their Currie Cup title defence in a top-of-the-table clash in Bloemfontein on Friday night.
The Cheetahs, who had to divide their player resources between the European Challenge Cup playoffs and Currie Cup, suffered their first loss of the domestic championship as the Pumas showed no mercy, dotting down nine tries to earn a bonus-point 61-21 victory.
The win saw the Pumas go four points clear at the top of the table and open a gap on the Sharks and Western Province, who face the Lions and Griquas respectively on Saturday.
