Rohan Janse van Rensburg and Franco Mostert starred for the Lions at Ellis Park on Saturday, according to SARugbymag.co.za's Opta-powered stats.
Janse van Rensburg represented everything that was good about the Lions, who secured a commanding 42-25 win over the Crusaders. His abrasive ball-carrying regularly enabled the Lions to get over the advantage line, with the burly centre making 72m and beating five defenders.
The talented midfielder also finished off a superb try early on as he again sent out a reminder that he should be in the Springbok reckoning for the Rugby Championship.
However, Mostert was the man who deservedly earned the Man of the Match award. The Bok lock was outstanding at the set pieces, but he also made a massive contribution in open play.
The towering second rower completed eight tackles, carried the ball well and was omnipresent around the park.
