DHL Stormers No 8 Evan Roos will undergo a fitness test on Thursday that could put him in line to face Clermont in a Champions Cup rematch in Cape Town on Saturday.
Roos last played in a 27-13 win for the Springboks against England on 26 November, before sidelined with a rib injury.

Herschel Jantjies could also make his return from an intercostal muscle problem – the scrumhalf’s last appearance was his 50th Stormers appearance in a Champions Cup win against London Irish on 17 December.
Speaking during a Stormers conference on Wednesday, backs coach Dawie Snyman told reporters: “Evan is looking good, he was at home training the last two weeks and I think he’s doing his final test tomorrow, but he’s looking good. Herschel should be back.”
Meanwhile, Damian Willemse and Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu are the frontrunners to start at flyhalf when the Stormers host French outfit Clermont at Cape Town Stadium without playmaker Manie Libbok, after he suffered a concussion in the bonus-point victory over London Irish on Sunday.

Willemse, who has featured prominently at fullback, flyhalf and centre for the Boks and Stormers over the last 13 months, said: “I think utility back is my best position! But that’s pretty much my role as a utility back; wherever there’s an injury or spot that’s open I do fulfill that duty.
“So if I do have to slot in at 10 for me, it’s just a different role and I’ll just try and run things from there. I think physically and mentally I’m in a good spot to perform at my best … I think coaches and management are doing a good job managing us.”
The Stormers need just one point from the clash against Clermont to seal their place in the Champions Cup playoffs.
