A double injury blow has prompted head coach Steve Borthwick to recall David Ribbans to England’s squad for the upcoming Six Nations tournament next month.
Veteran lock Courtney Lawes and hooker George McGuigan are both in doubt for England’s opening Six Nations fixture against Scotland on 4 February after picking up injuries in the final round of Champions Cup fixtures.

Lawes limped off in the first half of Northampton’s 31-13 loss to French outfit La Rochelle, while McGuigan picked up a knee injury and both have withdrawn from England’s squad.
As a result, Lawes’ Northampton teammate Ribbans and Bath hooker Tom Dunn have been called into the English camp.
Ribbans, born in Somerset West, made his Test debut for England last November, but was left out of the original Six Nations squad named by Borthwick last week.
