• Saffas impress for Force

South African Force recruits Marcel Brache, Dylan Sage and Brynard Stander shone in their new team's 69-3 victory over Samoa A in Rockingham.

The Super Rugby warm-up match also saw former Cheetahs flyhalf Sias Ebersohn, now in his second season with the Force, kick two conversions.

Samoa A were first on the scoreboard with a penalty from Ki Anufe, but the Force hit back shortly after with a try from Alby Mathewson to make it 5-3.

Brache then made a break and assisted Jayden Hayward for the second try of the match, making it 12-3. Just before half-time, a scrum inside the Samoan 22m area allowed Ben McCalman to pick up and charge over for the Force’s second try.

The second half saw the Force gifted with a penalty try for Samoa A’s discipline lapses. Ed Stubbs was also added to the try-scorers' list, along with Patrick Dellit, Pek Cowan, Luke Morahan (two), Dylan Sage and former Sharks loose forward Brynard Stander.
