Saru has reportedly agreed to extend Heyneke Meyer's contract by another four years.
Meyer has been under fire this week following the Boks' first ever defeat to Argentina, which saw them finish last in the Rugby Championship. The Bok coach has also been heavily criticised for failing to transform the national side, even though he has picked 17 players of colour during his tenure.
Die Burger reports that Saru has already agreed to extend Meyer's contract until the end of the 2019 World Cup in Japan, but that it is being kept secret for now.
However, SARugbymag.co.za understands that Meyer has not yet signed the contract extension.
Meyer has coached the Boks in 40 Tests, winning 26. Only Kitch Christie (100%), Nick Mallett (71%) and Jake White (66%) achieved a better win success rate than Meyer (65).
